About Day Massage
and the people at the desk.

We're a storefront on the Chaska Commons lot, at Hwy 41 and Pioneer Trail — next to Caribou Coffee, between Cub Foods and Target. Women-owned, one location, trading as XinYan, LLC. That's the whole company. No regional office, no membership desk, and no script at the front counter.

— Who we are

One studio,
not a flagship.

Day Massage is a single women-owned massage studio in Chaska. Not the first of a planned six, not a franchise unit with a territory map — one room count, one front desk, one phone number that a person picks up.

That matters less as a slogan than it does in the small things. Nobody here is working toward a conversion target. There's no membership to sell you at the end of the hour, no pre-paid package quietly expiring in your inbox, no autopay you have to cancel by calling a number in another state. You come in, you get an hour, you pay for the hour, you leave.

It also means the people at the desk own the outcome. If something was off — the pressure, the room temperature, the music, a therapist you'd rather not have again — say it on the way out. There's no ticket system to escalate into. There's just us, and we'd rather know.

— The visit

What actually
happens, in order.

Most first-timers walk in a little braced. It's a short list, and none of it is a surprise once someone writes it down.

The longer version
  1. 01

    At the desk

First visit, there's a short intake form — injuries, pregnancy, medication, anything sore or off-limits. Five to ten minutes early is plenty of margin. It exists so your therapist doesn't have to guess.

  2. 02

    The thirty-second conversation

Your therapist asks what you want before they start, not after. Where it hurts, how hard you want them to work, what to leave alone. Half a minute of talking changes the whole hour.

  3. 03

    The room

Private, dim, warm, heated table. For oil massage you undress only as far as you're comfortable and stay under a sheet the entire session — the only area ever uncovered is the one being worked on. Futon (Thai) and reflexology are done fully clothed.

  4. 04

    The hour itself

If the pressure is wrong, say so mid-stroke. That isn't a complaint and nobody here hears it as one. A relaxation massage should never hurt, and deep work should never be worse than a manageable ache.

  5. 05

    Afterwards

Water, a minute to sit, and out through the same door. Gratuity isn't built into the listed price and it's never expected.

— The wedge

Four things we do
differently than most.

Open 87.5 hours a week
Monday to Saturday 9 AM to 9 PM, Sunday from 9:30. Seven days, every week. If you work a normal shift, that is the single most useful fact on this page — and it's why the 7 PM slots are the first to go.
Every price published
Sessions run $35–$240, and the number sits next to the service on our own site — no "call for pricing", no upsell while you're face-down. The nearest national chain lists about $140 for a 60-minute session if you aren't a member. Ours is $80, whoever you are.
Walk in, no appointment
If a therapist is free you can come in off Pioneer Trail and be on a table ten minutes later. Evenings and Saturdays do fill up, and the couples room genuinely needs booking ahead — it's one room.
Nothing to cancel
No membership, no contract, no minimum. Come every three weeks or once a year; either way the price is the same and nobody phones you about it.

See the whole thing on the services page — every service, every length, every price.

— Credentials

What the City of Chaska
requires of us.

Minnesota does not license massage therapists. No state board, no state exam, no such thing as a Minnesota massage licence — which is a good reason to be wary of any studio in this state that claims to hold one.

Chaska regulates it locally instead, under City Code Chapter 5, Article 5.12, and the bar is not low. None of it is a boast: it's simply the cost of having a door open on Pioneer Trail, and it applies to every studio in town equally. What it gives you is a floor, and a short list of questions that have real answers.

Here's how the ordinance actually works, in full, along with what to ask any studio before you hand over a card.

400+ hours
Every individual therapist practising in Chaska must document at least 400 hours of training from an accredited programme.
$1,000,000 cover
Personal professional liability insurance at a million dollars, held by the therapist, not just by the business.
ABMP or AMTA
Current membership of a recognised national association — the two the ordinance names are ABMP and AMTA.
Council vote
The establishment licence is separate: a Chaska Police background check first, then a vote of the City Council.

The part most websites leave off

We keep the ABMP Respect Massage pledge

It's an anti-solicitation and anti-trafficking commitment, and it's worth saying in plain words rather than leaving a badge on a wall to do the work. This practice does not tolerate sexual misconduct — in either direction — and it does not mix sex and massage. A request like that ends the session on the spot, and that person isn't welcome back.

If you have ever hesitated over booking a massage in a strip mall because of what this industry's reputation carries, that hesitation is reasonable. It deserves an explicit answer rather than a shrug. This is ours.

— Come see the room

The door's open
until nine tonight.

Book a time online, call or text (612) 600-9298, or simply turn up — we'll tell you straight away what's free. Not sure what to book? Read the menu, or check the map and parking first.

Is Day Massage part of a chain or franchise?

No. Day Massage is one women-owned studio in Chaska Commons, Chaska, trading as XinYan, LLC. There is no second location, no franchise agreement, no membership programme and no autopay to cancel.

Are massage therapists licensed in Minnesota?

Not at state level — Minnesota has no massage board, no state exam and no state massage licence, so treat any Minnesota studio claiming one with caution. Chaska regulates locally instead: under City Code Chapter 5, Article 5.12 every therapist practising in town must document 400 or more hours of accredited training, carry $1,000,000 in personal liability insurance and hold current ABMP or AMTA membership, and the establishment licence itself requires a Chaska Police background check and a City Council vote.

What is the Respect Massage pledge?

It is ABMP's anti-solicitation and anti-trafficking commitment. In plain language: sexual misconduct is not tolerated in either direction, massage is never mixed with anything sexual, and a request like that ends the session on the spot. We would rather write that out than let a badge on the wall do the talking.

Every question we get asked

— Sources & background reading

Massage is one of the oldest forms of self-care, and what we do is squarely on the relaxation side of it. We make no medical claims — for neutral, non-promotional background, read the NCCIH on massage therapy , what the science actually says , relaxation techniques and the AMTA on massage and wellness .

Those are general educational references about the practice, not statements about any particular session here.

Day Massage is a relaxation and wellness studio, not a medical provider. Nothing here is medical advice — if something hurts in a way that worries you, see a clinician.
